Project Goal:
This split level house lacked visual connections to both inside and outside for owners who spend their relaxation time enjoying the pool and back yard in the summertime and the lower level family room during the winter months. The lower level was dark and lacked a view to the backyard. The front entry was crowded into a corner. The upper level kitchen was small and inconveniently located for use during the summer pool months. The rear deck needed to be replaced.

Outcome:
A new glass front door with sidelite and transoms make the entry feel spacious and inviting. Seven new windows open the basement view to the backyard pool. A new wet bar in the lower level provides convenience for outdoor refreshments. Removing a wall that separated the kitchen from the formal dining room allows for a more visually open kitchen and dining area. Spatial connections are improved by replacing the rear deck with a series of cascading levels conecting the kitchen with the pool.
